Demurrage and detention charges will be applied to all cargoes for which the import or export free time is exceeded.
- Demurrage : Demurrage applies to all containers remaining in the terminal for longer than the free allowance. This charge will be due and invoiced when the customer keeps AEL or EOLIS equipment on the terminal premises for longer than the agreed allowance.
- Detention : Detentions apply to all AEL or EOLIS containers that are kept by the customer outside the terminal for –longer than the agreed deductible. They will be invoiced until the container is returned in good condition to the agreed terminal. The deductibles, amounts, terms and conditions of demurrage and detention vary from country to country.
